Briggs & Stratton Fuel Tips

 

What is the best small engine or lawn mower fuel?

Fuel for your lawn mower or outdoor power equipment must meet these requirements:

  • Clean, fresh, unleaded
  • A minimum of 87 octane/87 AKI (91 RON)
  • Fuel with up to 10% ethanol or up to 15% MTBE (methyl tertiary butyl ether), is acceptable. Some fuel stations are now selling fuel with up to 15% ethanol. This E15 product is not recommended or approved for use in small engines.

 

Note: LOOK BEFORE YOU PUMP! All fuel is not the same. Do not use an unapproved fuel type (such as E85 ethanol) or modify your Briggs & Stratton engine to run on alternative fuels. These actions can cause damage to small engines and will void your Briggs & Stratton warranty.
